COMMITTEE NEWS & NOTES
Our last committee/parents meeting was held on October 19. We discussed our upcoming activities, meetings, summer camp and our trip to Yellowstone.
Our next committee/parents meeting will be held on Monday, November 9, concurrently with our regular troop meeting. We will, discuss upcoming activities, our annual wreath sale, summer camp, and our trip to Yellowstone. All parents should attend.
WASHINGTON, DC/BALTIMORE MD
We will visit our nation’s capital, Washington, DC, November 13–15. We will visit the Smithsonian and the national monuments on Saturday. On Sunday, we will visit the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
The cost of this trip will be $150.00 per person. This will include lodging, meals, transportation, and admission to the aquarium. All the monuments and museums in Washington are free. Payment for this trip is due Monday, November 9.
We will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and return around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT FRIENDLY’S
On Tuesday, November 17, Friendly’s restaurant in Metuchen will hold a Family Fun Night to benefit our troop. They will donate 10% of their total sales from 5–8 P.M. to our troop. Please eat there that night and spread the word. .
YELLOWSTONE
We are planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, this summer. This will be a 7–10-day trip to one of the most amazing areas of our country. We may also visit Grand Teton National Park.
The cost of this trip will be approximately $700.00 per person. Any who is interested in participating in this trip, must bring in a deposit of $200.00 as soon as possible.
UNIFORMS
All Scouts must wear either their Troop 74 shirt or their uniform to all meetings. The Boy Scout Handbook is part of the uniform. Scouts who repeatedly do not have their proper uniform will be sent home.
DUES
Dues of twenty-five dollars per year are due by the last meeting in September. Please make sure to give them to Nick as soon as possible, if you have not already done so.
